Gent 26-year-old Nigerian defender Jordan Torunarigha could return to the Bundesliga this summer.
Turkish outlet reported on Saturday that Trabzonspor are in talks with Gent to sign 26-year-old Nigerian defender Jordan Torunarigha, who is also a target for Stuttgart.
Torunarigha was born in Germany and came through the youth system at Hertha Berlin before being release by Gent in the summer of 2022. He has 12 months left on his contract with the Belgian side and is value at around €5m.
Stuttgart are reportedly interested in bringing Torunarigha back to the German capital this summer after losing Valdemar Anton and Hiroki Ito to Promotion ufabet Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich respectively, but now Turkish side Trabzonspor are also interested in signing the 26-year-old centre-back.
‘There is a lot of interest and concrete conversations that I am having. My contract runs until 2025 and I am in no rush to leave. We will see what happens. I am focuse on achieving the highest sporting goals possible and that certainly plays a part in my decision,’ said the 26-year-old defender.
The Turkish Super Lig side is evaluating options, including Attila Szalai, but has now initiated talks with Torunarigha. The 1.91-meter tall defender impressed last season with 42 appearances and one goal for Gent.
With a market value of €5 million and a contract running until 2025, the Nigerian international has also attracted attention from several other top clubs, including Leeds United, Crystal Palace, FC Turin, and others.
As Trabzonspor and Stuttgart prepare to battle for his signature, Torunarigha’s future remains a hot topic in the transfer market.
