Spurs have reached an agreement to loan RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner for another year with an option to buy for a reduced price of just £8.5m.

The original loan deal from January had an option to buy for £15 million.

Ange Postecoglou is delighted with the involvement of Werner, 28, and the deal represents good business for Spurs as they look to fill the summer transfer market. This is impressive from day one.

The German forward initially arrived in January UFABET and scored twice in 15 appearances, providing three assists, before his season ended prematurely due to a hamstring injury.

The German striker joined Postecoglou’s side in January and scored two goals in 13 appearances upon his return to the Premier League.

The move is Tottenham’s second ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, the club having already land Swedish talent Lucas Bergvall from Djurgardens in a signing announced in February ahead of the teenager’s switch next month.

Earlier on Tuesday, Spurs signed reserve goalkeeper Brandon Austin up to a new five-year contract ahead of his deal expiring this summer.

Werner returned to RB Leipzig in 2022, where he scored 11 goals in 35 Bundesliga appearances before moving to Tottenham in the winter.
